Chris Williams, LAc

Chris Williams, M. Dipl. Ac., LAc., is a graduate of the Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine in Sugar Grove, North Carolina.  He is Board Certified nationally through the NCCAOM and state licensed in Tennessee through the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners.

Chris was introduced to Chinese medicine by an acupuncturist in his home state of Virginia, and he was immediately drawn by the practitioner’s ability to detect information from pulse and tongue diagnosis.  There were symptoms and personal tendencies discovered through these diagnostic methods that were not discussed during the initial intake.  A profound curiosity was formed immediately and over time, a strong relationship as well.  This intense curiosity combined with a desire for a new direction in life birthed an almost immediate realization that he needed to study this ancient medicine.  With some guidance from his acupuncturist, Chris found and enrolled at Jung Tao.

Jung Tao, whose curriculum is rooted in Taoism, is one of the few Classical Chinese Medicine schools in the United States.  From  day one, Chris was astonished by the complex interplay between the body and the environment - how cycles in nature can be transposed to the human physical body as well as the psyche.  He also admired the school’s focus of personal growth and self-development through Taijiquan and Taoist practices, so the students could develop the proper perspective to see and understand the interplay between people and their environment. His passion for Chinese Medicine has never waned, and he continues to study Chinese Medical theory and cultivate himself as a practitioner through Taijiquan.

Chris’ goals in the clinic are to foster strong relationships with his patients, and empower them in a way that allows them to become more knowledgeable and informed about their own unique healing process.  He brings compassion and empathy into his treatment space, and intends for the patients in his care to be more aware and proactive in their health and wellbeing as this is vital for sustainability.  Chris seeks to use Chinese Medicine to reestablish the natural rhythms in the body, which helps his patients better react with themselves, others, and their environment on all levels - physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
